She nods shoulders finally slumping. ~You are not wrong.~

She plops down at the table, staring into an empty mug. ~I do not trust...ever. It is not part of what I know. Pain, fear, flight. That is what I know. This is...outside of my wheelhouse. When you trust someone...you give someone something they can hurt you with. I'd rather give my skin...bruises heal. The body knits itself back together...~ she lets that thought trail off.

His features softened slightly.
~I... I understand. We are not so different in this. I just can't help myself with you. Even if it causes me... fear as well.~

He leaned back, his eye on her. After a moment he let out a soft chuckle.
~So you admit to being fond of me?~

He nodded.
~It has been nearly a month of many changes, that is certain.~

He grabbed the pitcher, and walked to the cider barrel to fill it. He then refilled both of their cups, and took a seat closer to Tori.
~Soon you will be sleeping in a bed, and bathing in a tub. I will see to it. I will do other things to make you more comfortable as long as it doesn't make this place feel to far off from home. The only way I can cope with my temporal predicament is living like this...~ He let his gaze wander around the great hall.

She'd scoot a bit closer to him, probably due to the chill his rage brings out. ~I could get an appartment near the hospital where John should be...it's not like you won't know where I am...~

He looked back to her as the rest of his anger finally left him.
~You look similar to the women of my time. a little farther east than my home, but the features are familiar. And you have their strength in you, whether you see it or not. That is just one part though. Now that you are here, the thought of you going puts my stomach into knots. It is partially feeling like I am less now that I know my soul is incomplete, but it is also because I have grown to enjoy your company. I enjoy looking upon you as I prepare to start the day. You also give me purpose in a way. A reason to work the land, and do something besides idly toy with the world around me, and find any reason to throw myself into a fight.~

That makes her laugh out loud. "Did you just tell me that I look like a girl you used to know?! That's like the oldest line I've ever heard!" She elbows him good naturedly and scoots a little closer. It was still cold, after all.

~I'm kinda fond of your grumpy self too.~ The warmth of begrudging affection spreading through the bond. ~You have seen a side of me only shared with my physical twin.~

She'd let out a slow breath and lay her head on his shoulder, though it must have been due to the fact that her ear was cold.

He chuckled.
"It wasn't a line, but if it works I will not complain."

He gave a half-grin at her thoughts.
~An honor I do not take lightly.~

He reached out and put his hand on hers.
"You feel cold. Perhaps there is warmth in those furs you talk about so much?"

Aloud, she would chuckle. "You drive me nuts, you know? Like pull out my hair and punch a puppy, nuts."

She'd nod her head. ~Warmth is best when shared...~ she thought to him.

His grin got larger as he stood.
"I know the feeling..."

He stood in front of her, and held out a hand.
~Really? It just so happens that I feel a bit of a chill for once. Join me?~

She'd stand and grin. "You're just....impossible. You're gonna be the death of me."

She'd take his hand and lead him away from that space shaking her head and laughing.
