Brotherly Love (10/22/14)

"I fucking hit you because you threatened my little brother. No one does that. I was fine just getting high and getting you off...but leave Johnny alone.... That is the only reason I hit you."

She takes a step back and takes in a calming breath. "If you promise to do right by him we're cool. And I'm sorry."

"Apology accepted. But if I were not the man I am, I'd be picking up my lower jaw from the ground and wouldn't be able to accept the phone calls to 'do right' by your brother. Really, I just wanted to get your attention. You know, you're very cute when you're trying to take a man's head off." He smiled.

She grumbled, picking up her bag and throws the strap over her shoulder with fading contempt.

"Well I'm not very bright. And where he's concerned, I have no patience and a very bad temper. Which makes me dumber." She flops herself down on the floor of the room, exhausted and sad the adrenaline was wearing off.

He joins her on the floor. "Have you considered practicing meditation? It might help you with your temper. I could also teach you to fight."

She laughs. "Some douchebag tried to tell me meditation would fix my issues. I tried it and got pissed and broke his nose. I couldn't get my brain to shut up. But the horse is the only thing that ever gets me there...well that and other things."

She finally smiles again, letting herself shake off the anger. She closes her fist and admires it. "You think I need lessons, Ivan?" she grins, looking back at him.

She chuckles. "Your teeth might disagree. If you hadn't used magic to fix yourself all up... Which by the way,  how did your do that without drugs or sex or art or prayer or something?"

Arkadi grinned when she admired her own fist. "You're a one trick pony, and I will heal like that all day. As for how, just ever since I could do magic. Just blessed, I guess."

She grumbles. "I can get real creative if I'm forced to." She shoots him a grin.

"So um,  that kid before...was he bleeding? Did tog turns him away for a chance at tail?" she picks up the joint  she dropped on the floor and relit it with a bit of difficulty. She hadn't shot up in days and was starting regret not having asked Johnny for extra.

He snorted. "That kid was a science wizard who seems to have a habit of showing up where and when he's not wanted. He's no special friend of mine, and he was interrupting a business transaction. Which I never appreciate. I'll find him in the morning and help him patch himself up. It's true, I wouldn't have minded tearing up your cute little ass, but I don't have a problem getting a date when I want one, without trading cash or services."

She rolls her eyes and takes a long drag. "You are such a lady's man. A regular fucking poet prince." She laughs mirthlessly.

"But you find Johnny, you can tear up whatever you want. I'm not in a position to negotiate."

wham wham wham on the front door, an eye peering up over the small window.

"Plumber. Something about empty pipes?" came the call as the young man grinned and stepped back to wait. Jet lag could be damned, if he had to go and waste time out on the streets. It was starting to get cold, and he couldn't stand the chill much longer.
