Quinn's Quills, Downtown Defiance
Quinn's Quills in downtown Defiance is an unassuming little shop front that has books, crystals, and hand-made cosmetics, perfumes and jewelry displayed in the street-facing window. The perfumes and cosmetics are carefully stashed out of the sunlight. The store-front display has a wide enough variety of books to suggest that the shop isn't solely for occult-themed things, but it certainly caters to that clientele.
Inside, there are carafes of tea and coffee with honest-to-goodness tea cups and saucers. There are comfy chairs for patrons to sit and relax and read. The store smells calm and welcoming, and unsurprisingly, there is a black cat who wanders around, largely ignoring the patrons. The shelves are better-stocked than the window display would suggest, and there is a set of stairs up to a loft where more proper occult items are sold. Upstairs is also where the hand-made, natural cosmetics and perfumes are located.
While there does appear to be a security system in place (camera behind the counter both upstairs and down, and a sticker on the front door advertising that the building is monitored), there are also a variety of precious and semi-precious stones placed on the tops of shelves and near the entrances and windows.
