Thanksgiving- Not just for 'Muricans!

Post by Tori on Thu Nov 27, 2014 9:56 am

Wednesday night, Tori would tell Beovyn he should invite his friends for dinner Thursday night.

She wanted to do something nice.

Beovyn puts out the word, and come Thursday night the doors to the Great Drekisalr are wide open. The fires all burned bright with an inviting warmth, and the smell of food wafted out. Beovyn moved around the hall making sure it was ready to receive company.

Making her way into the place with their son beside her. Evelyn looks around to see if she can find Beovyn. "Hey" a warm smile crosses her lips.

Tori would be in the corner, trying to be helpful while looking after a body curled up in the corner of the Hall. When Evie arrives she makes a concerted effort to greet her and the boy, getting up and moving over to shake the woman's hand.

"Happy Thanksgiving." she'd say to Evie, holding out a hand for the boy

Seeing Tori, a warm smile crosses her lips, making the effort to greet her as well. "Thank you, happy thanksgiving to you as well." Shakes her hand before looking down at her son.

A mail courier arrives on foot (or gets as close as wards or other barriers would allow strangers). He is holding a package under his arm and if he can get close enough, knocks on the door.

With the door being open, the courier would have no problem getting close. There are two women and a young boy greeting inside the hall.

The blonde woman would look up at the courier curiously. "Hey, happy Thanksgiving, man. Did we order something?"

Eventually, Kat would drift in, carrying her infant daughter. Uncertain as to who the courier was, she largely ignored him. She nodded in greeting to those already gathered, giving Logan a soft pat on the shoulder as she walked past him. Looking at Tori, she'd comment, "You're looking well. How is John - will he be joining us? " She kept an eye on the woman even while she continued to move, showing the question was more than an empty platitude.

Beovyn gave Evelyn a nod of greeting before waving his son over to the cooking fire. He started to tell a story about the great drake that breathed a fire so hot it could melt the strongest rock. When the stranger approached he walked over to the doorway, and crossed his arms,  watching him while Tori spoke.

Beovyn's eye drifted from the stranger to Kat as she strolled up. He gave her a smile and a nod before returning his attention to the man with the package.

The man would hand over the plain brown package to the blonde woman as he nods. "No signature required ma'am. Have a nice day."

Written in sharpy on the package was

"To: B
From: Ion"

Tori smiles warmly when Kat arrived. "He will try. He is less lucid than I like, but can eat... Thank you for asking."

She'd take the package and turn to Beovyn. "Hey you know an Ion?"

At some point the Hermetic appeared. Not in the hall, just outside, he'd come into view strolling up. There was something unusual about his approach, albeit difficult to discern. Slowly he passed inside, giving a nod to his cabal mates and heading to the far end of the Mead hall. Dorian's gaze narrowed on Tori, scrutinizing, but just for a second before he moved on.

Until someone engaged him the wizard was content to wander around the hall to look around, look for changes since his last visit.

The good doctor made a timely arrival, his Chinese manservant bringing in a few homemade pies and setting them somewhere on the table and leaving just as quickly. For the moment at least, he kept his metal skin covered by the holographic projection that had become his signature look. "Hello, everyone, hello. Dorian, good to see you again."

Beovyn raised a brow at the strange man before turning to Tori.
"No..." he said with suspicion thick in his voice. Seeing his other Cabal-mate brought the tug of half-smile on his lips, and the Doctor got a nod before his attention returned to the oddness at hand. He turned to the man.
"Who are you?"

The mail courier, having handed over the package and said goodbye, continues to walk away. He didn't seem to react as if he heard anyone talking to him.

"Doctor, it's good to be seen." he makes the smallest smiles, acknowledging the other council member with a nod. "You should visit sometime. Maybe with Beovyn, we could discuss Chantry matters. Or by yourself..." he shrugged and returned to examining whatever it was that caught his eye - probably some ornate bit of weaponry.

Tori would try to keep up with the visitors, growing more anxious the more that came around.

After four or so guests arrived, she would move tot he far corner of the text, where a man lie sleeping in a pile of furs. She would stay back there with him as the group grew.

~Do you know all of these people?~ she would project to Beovyn.

Beovyn took a step to pursue the mail carrier, but with a look back to his company, he turned back, and went inside. He headed back to his son to finish his story, and then set about making sure there was enough room for everyone around a table. Otherwise he made conversation with any that approached, giving priority to his cabal.

To Tori's thought he responded.
~Everyone except that mail carrier. I wouldn't be surprised if more arrived soon.~
